Terms & Conditions

Last updated

These terms govern your use of Claude Watermark Eraser at https://claudewatermarkeraser.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What we provide

We provide free, browser-based utilities for inspecting and cleaning Unicode characters in text, together with related articles and a public API. No account is required and no fee is charged.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to process content you have no right to process.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, its database or its admin area.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the site, including by circumventing rate limits, or place an automated load on it that degrades service for others.
  • Scrape, republish or resell our articles without permission.
  • Use the tools to help misrepresent authorship where you are required to disclose it, or to evade an obligation you owe to someone else.

We may block access to anyone who breaches these terms, without notice.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the text you process. Because the tools run in your browser, we never receive that text and therefore claim no licence over it. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process whatever you paste in.

4. What the tools do and do not do

The tools operate on characters, not on meaning. They remove or substitute Unicode characters according to the options you select. They do not rewrite, paraphrase or alter your wording.

We make no claim that these tools will make text undetectable by AI detection software. AI detectors analyse statistical properties of writing, not character encoding. Any expectation that cleaning characters will change a detector's verdict is mistaken, and we do not market the tools on that basis.

Findings do not prove where a document came from. The characters we detect are introduced by word processors, PDF exports and web pages as routinely as by AI writing tools.

5. Availability

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site, including the API, at any time.

6. Public API

The JSON API at /api/clean.php is free to use, subject to rate limiting. We may change its behaviour, tighten its limits or withdraw it without notice. Do not build anything that depends on it being permanently available, and cache responses where you reasonably can.

7. Accuracy

We take care to be accurate, and the detection engine reports exact Unicode codepoints rather than estimates. Even so, we do not warrant that the site or its articles are complete, current or error-free. Nothing here is legal, security or professional advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the site.

Because the tools modify text, always keep your own copy of anything important before processing it. We are not liable for changes made to your text by a tool you chose to run.

9. Intellectual property

The site's design, code and written articles belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce whole articles without written permission.

“Claude” is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Anthropic. The name is used descriptively to identify what the tool is commonly searched for.

10. Advertising and third parties

The site may display advertising to cover its running costs. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or for third-party sites they lead to. Advertising never influences what the tools report.

11. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and forms part of these terms.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can go through our contact page.
